Team members must be able to trust their teammates to perform the tasks that they are assigned, in order to be effective and efficient in their own jobs. | 1. Expectations Socially, we all make assumptions about others. This also true within the work environment. Based on our assumptions we then have certain expectations about how others will perform, interact or make decisions. This module aims to highlight the good and bad points of having expectations of teammates. 2. Fair Exchanges As trust has to be mutual, it follows that the demands we make of each other should also be balanced where possible if we are to minimize resentment. This module looks at how a team leader can assign work while keeping within the capabilities of the rest of the team. 3. Predictability A large part of trusting others is about being able to predict their actions. ![]() | 4. Realistic Target Setting By setting realistic targets, we are more likely to trust that colleagues will achieve them. It might also be said that we would be more likely to trust the decision makers if they set realistic targets. This module looks at how we can establish such targets by having a greater understanding of the human resources at our disposal. | |
